Colorful dance highlights Kalilangan 2012 culminationGENERAL SANTOS CITY (February 27, 2012) – Street dancers perform at the “City by the Bay” thoroughfare during the street dancing competition as one of the highlights of Kalilangan Festival 2012 and 73rd foundation anniversary culmination program of General Santos City Monday, February 27. The city is bounded by municipalities of Sarangani Province namely Alabel, Maasim and Malungon. The city is likewise bounded by South Cotabato municipalities of Polomolok and T’boli. General Santos City is the center of commerce, trade, and logistics of Region XII and the South Cotabato, Cotabato City, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani Province and General Santos City (SOCCSKSARGEN) growth area. Sarangani Bay Festival 2012 party zoneGUMASA, Sarangani (February 21, 2012) – This is the party zone of the biggest beach party in Mindanao, the Sarangani Bay Festival this coming May 18-19, 2012 in Gumasa, Glan, Sarangani’s pride and prime tourist destination. A 90-meter stretch of this shoreline where a model enjoys the fine-white sand is the actual party zone while a six-hectare open space has been designated for various festival events. Vice Gov. Steve in Bangsi Festival of Maitum, Sarangani

MAITUM, Sarangani (January 29, 2012) – Vice Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon graces the drum and lyre competition at the municipal gymnasium Thursday, January 26, during the 5th Bangsi Festival as he encourages students to study hard to achieve their dreams. This year’s festival theme is “Yamang Dagat Pahalagahan, Kalikasan Pangalagaan”. Bangsi (flying fish) is Maitum’s One Town One Product (OTOP), providing livelihood to coastal households.
