Students at Sultan Kudarat State University sharpen their English language skills with the aid of computer-assisted learning resources provided under the Job Enabling and English Proficiency (JEEP) project of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). Over 1,400 such facilities have been built by USAID across conflict affected areas of Mindanao
COMMERCIAL HUB Brgy. Poblacion in Aurora, Zamboanga Del Sur, has become a magnet for business activity with the help of a trading center built by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). More than 300 farmers and traders from nine municipalities flock to the facility during tabo, or market day, to display and sell their produce. The trading center serves as a sheltered, orderly venue for commercial activity, encouraging more residents to become entrepreneurs and enabling the local government to generate additional revenue from user fees. The trading facility is among the more than 1,400 barangay infrastructure projects (BIPs) completed in conflict-affected areas by USAID through its Growth with Equity in Mindanao Program, which is implemented under the oversight of the Mindanao Development Authority.
