U.S. Ambassador Harry K. Thomas Jr. met officials of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the heads of chambers of commerce from across the region at the 20th Mindanao Business Conference in Pagadian City, where he gave the keynote address on September 8, 2011. The U.S. Agency for International Development, through its Growth with Equity in Mindanao (GEM) Program, is working with chambers of commerce, industry federations, growers associations, and other business support organizations to catalyze economic growth in the region under the oversight of the Mindanao Development Authority.
