Mindanao's Future IT WorkforceHigh school students of the Islamic Institute of the Philippines, a madrasah in Zamboanga City, create PowerPoint presentations, with the help of the computer resources, software, training and internet access provided to the school by USAID’s Growth with Equity in Mindanao (GEM) Program through its Computer Literacy and Internet Connection (CLIC) project. More than 700 high schools and elementary schools in conflict-affected areas of Mindanao have participated in CLIC, benefiting more than 500,000 students and more than 16,000 teachers. Approximately 900 schools will receive CLIC assistance from the GEM Program over the next four years. GEM is implemented under the oversight of the Mindanao Economic Development Council. GEM
