MinBizCon Kicks off in Dipolog City

DIPOLOG CITY—The opening of 17th annual Mindanao Business Conference here yesterday [August 28, 2008] was a strong display of private sector confidence in the face of upheavals that have taken place in parts of the region recently.

The Zamboanga del Norte Convention Center was packed with representatives of chambers of commerce and other business support organizations from across Mindanao and the rest of the country, including top officials of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI). Read more

MAASIM, Sarangani (August 28, 2008) – Brig. Gen. Gaudencio Pangilinan, outgoing commander of 1002nd Infantry Brigade, takes up operational matters with Gov. Migs Dominguez Wednesday, August 27. Thousands of civilians displaced by the attack of rogue Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) elements who killed two innocent civilians August 18 are being sent home by civilian and military authorities after a week-long manhunt operation by the military. In June, Pangilinan and his troops also warded off rogue MILF forces that attacked villages in Maitum.
