80 CAFGU Retirees in Caraga Region Get P1.75-M Separation Pay from AFP
BUTUAN CITY- Eighty CAFGU Active Auxiliary retirees from Caraga Region who have rendered eight years service in the CAFGU Active Auxiliary Force received recently in a simple distribution ceremonies a total of P1.75-M separation benefits or pay from the Armed Forces of the Philippines .
Personally handed over by Brigadier General Ricardo David, 4th Infantry “Diamond” Division Commander in a simple and austere ceremony held at the 4th ID Main Headquarters at Camp Evangelista in Cagayan de Oro City, each retirees get at least P21, 900.00 cash benefit representing their individual separation fee.
Philippine Army 4th ID spokesman Major MICHELE B ANAYRON, Jr. said that under implementing rules and regulations governing the management of CAAs, those honorably separated are entitled to receive Separation Benefits amounting to Php 21,900.00 provided they have rendered a minimum 8 years length of service.
Others who were honorably separated but did not reach the 8 years minimum length of service are still entitled to receive separation gratuity based on the following formula: 7 years- 75% of the full separation benefit, 6 years- 50% and 5 years-25
Sixty six years old CAA retiree Nicanor Ibabao from Lower Patag , Sison, Surigao del Norte who have been serving the force since 1988 said he is thankful to the military that his services were recognized and honored n\by the government.
“I do not even wanted to retire as I will continue to be of service to the Auxiliary Force that is if they still needed my services”, Ibabao said.
But Anayron explained regulations dictate that he should “retire” due to old age.
The Army official however thanked Ibabao for his steadfast service and loyalty to the Auxiliary Force for the years of service he spent.
Brigadier General Ricardo David, 4th Infantry “Diamond” Division Commander for his part thanked the CAA retirees for their loyal and honorable service to country and people.
David stressed the importance of the CAFGUs as an integral part of the AFPs strategy to defeat the threats to the country’s security.
“Your role in the Holding Phase of our Campaign is very vital by ensuring that cleared areas will no longer be recovered by the NPAs”, General David concludes.
