Mindanao Bloggers Summit memories

Bob Speaking at MBS1Well, the First Mindanao Bloggers Summit is now history, having taken place yesterday at NCCC Mall here in Davao.  The event was well attended, and it seemed like everybody had a good time.  I know that I enjoyed it, learned some new information, met some new people and generally considered the event to be a huge success!

Congratulations to the “Usual Suspects,” the group who organized the event!  Blogie is somebody that I have known for years, and consider to be a good friend.  In addition to Blogie, the Usual Suspects include Jun (also a good friend), and some others that I met for the first time yesterday:  Andrew, Ria Jose, Migs, Peter Levina, Dom, Kim and Marc.  I hope I didn’t forget to mention anybody in the group!

The MBS started off around 10:30am with a speech by Davao City Councilor Peter Levina, very informative and interesting!  I went next, speaking about Travel and Technology in Mindanao.  After that, there were a host of other speakers (sorry, I had another engagement and could not stay through the middle of the Summit).  I returned in the afternoon, and participated in a panel discussion and question and answer session along with fellow speakers Jayvee, Marc, Andrew and Abe.  It was a great discussion, talking about everything from paying taxes on blog earnings to what is our next venture after blogging.  It was a really complete discussion.

Once again, congratulations to all the organizers of the MBS!  Putting on an event like this is big work, but they did a great job and made Davao proud!

I only got a quick chitchat with you, but it was a pleasure finally meeting you Bob! Thanks for helping us make the MBS a success. :)

Sorry dcdoro apo – I have to disagree. I thought that the MBS was a success. Remember, this is only the 1st MBS, with more to come! Future Summits will attract more attendees, more events, etc. For a first time event, I think that MBS was a great success.

Good luck with your summit too.

im sorry bob i wasn’t able to attend as i attended a party of friendsters’ group of my own. sorry we saw the mbs a dismal failure made by trying hards. we’re plotting our own alternative summit- this gonna be december xmas time – a big friendstermates party mindanaowide in davao city. the too scarce attendance of blogger trying hards in our self-serving summit only shows the big failure of the gathering despite the big hoopla, mileage the mbs organizers claimed including councilor lavina. we wonder were all the funds of donors went to?- dcdoro apo
