New Contributor Introduction: Moslemen M. Macarambon Jr.
Few days ago Bob posted “Would you like to write for Mindanao.com?” – he was looking for a few more additional writers for this blog. He was looking for 5 additional bloggers. And one of his goals is to have some at least 1 muslim blogger to post his views and perspective as a Muslim so to representation for the large muslim population here in Mindanao. So i sign-up right away without hesitation to volunter as one of the additional bloggers. Though i’m a muslim bloger here, i don’t have the authority to represent them all but i’ll be here to share my views, sentiments and perspective as a Muslim Youth nor as a Moro Youth.
Now that Bob welcome us all aboard as new and official additional writers and contributors here in Mindanao Blog, my primary role here would be as weekly contributor. I’ll be posting every monday or more if theres more time to write and good topics to comment. My topics of choice will focus and will be at least related about Bangsamoro, Islam, Peace Talks/Process, Muslim Mindanao and Technology.
I’ve known Bob for quite more than a year now, since i was active in blogging scene particularly here in Davao Blogging scene as one of the usual suspects. My first thought of joining Bob here is i’m humbled by accepting my volounterism. Since i’m now part of this blog, i have the opportunities to share my perspective on different issues that concerns the Muslims and Moro people in Mindanao.
Aside from being a blogger i’m an undergraduate student at Ateneo de Davao University taking up BSBA major in Entrepreneurship and a freelance web developer/webmaster. I currently maintain several Moro related websites as webmaster and one of those is the Bangsamoro.com where it is the flagship web project of Young Moro Professionals Network, Inc. which im also a member. I consider myself as a Moro Activist. I have new blog comming up – Paradise Philippines where it i will talks about the different parts of Philippines that has a paradise feel and environment.
I hope this little and brief introduction will give the readers here in Mindanao Blog of what to expect from my postings. If you need to know more about me, my personal blog is at http://blog.wyzemoro.com. Please feel free to drop me a line if you feel there’s anything we need to talk about. PIA Press Release
2006/01/25
DOLE XI warns public vs BEDCO
Davao City (25 January) — DOLE-XI regional director Ma. Gloria Tango warned the general public not to fall prey to the alleged recruitment activities being conducted in the region by the Bangsamoro Economic Development Council (BEDCO).
The warning was issued by the DOLE regional office in the wake of numerous queries from concerned citizens alleging that recruitment activities are being conducted by BEDCO in the Davao Region.
In a related report, North Cotabato governor Emmanuel Piñol has also denied that he has a sister recruiting people to join the BEDCO.
The alleged recruitment by BEDCO involves the payment of a membership fee of P1,200 to P1,500 and P32 a month trust fund in exchange of promises to provide jobs with salaries ranging from P15,000 – P18,000 for janitors and drivers and P80,000 for coordinators.
As far as the Labor Department is concerned, only private recruitment and placement agencies duly registered and licensed in the regional office may recruit workers for local jobs opportunities while only overseas recruitment agencies duly registered and licensed by the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) may recruit workers for overseas employment in Region XI.
There are only three licensed private recruitment and placement agencies in the region namely: Neo Professionals Corporation, Hexa General Manpower Services and Vinsan Employment & Allied Services while there is only one recruitment agency that has been granted an authority to operate a branch office in the region, Violy’s Employment Manpower & general services. Other than being licensed, authorized recruitment agencies must also obtain an authority to recruit from the Regional Office to recruit workers outside their office premises. (DOLE XI/BS) [top]
IS THIS TRUE???????
Thanks
im one of the member of BEDGO… I’d paid P1,200, until now wala pa ring nanyayari.. pls. naman.. sayang pera nmin..
magastos? i think, the local government shold have to look into this.. have you seen abs cbn? they did the documentary investigation for NELFI, its not filing a case, its subject for investigation before filing a case. somehow like investigatory report
i think wala pang tao nag file ng case sa court. at saka this poor people cant afford the expenses. magastos ang litigation.
if it is a scam since 2004, bakit hindi pa imbestigahan sa mga nagrereklamo?
