With much appreciation Nono Oliver...
for continuing on updating us on the developments of our beloved Wao specifically to be called a Healthy as well as the Green Wao that it has become simultaneously. Also pleased to hear about the good news on its newly concluded fiesta celebrations, the successful Araw Ng Wao with various worthwhile activities/festivities took place and actively participated in. A Big congratulations to all of you there people of Wao!

Hi Francis,
I believe your US trip is fast approaching... and even though how busy is everyone these days, one can still manage to update one another thru Bob's site. Please continue to update us on your itinerary, schedules as your trip progresses and forthcoming. To give you a headstart my family will be very busy last week of March in prep for my oldest son's wedding (Apolo, Jr.) in San Diego and we'll be there for this special occasion. Also, first week of April we'll be in Phoenix, AZ for the 13th b-day of my oldest granddaughter April 3. We'll fly from SF to SD then to Phoenix and home to SF on the 5th, April. I just want to let you know, if you need to contact me when you're in California, please call me on my cell: 650-515-2068 okay?.

Lastly, hoping all is well with Fellow Waonians , wherever you are and whatever you're up to these days. Spring is coming and weather is getting beautiful each day here in California. Have a good one to all of you!

All the best,
Ida Combatir-Estrada

Additionally I would discourage anyone who writes here unpleasant remarks or negative sentiments to another person for personal purpose, please refrain from using this site, please!..(again). Ice

Wao district hospital will soon be a secondary level hospital within 6 months. This is the challenge of the new DOH ARMM regional secretary when he grace the Philihealth events of universal coverage on Araw ng WAo. the hospitAL WILL THEN PURCHASE more equipments and consultant physicians like surgeons, anestheseologist, OB GYNE , pedia, Internal medicines, Opthal and etc. the main reason of the secretary that 100% patients of wao banisilan and bumburan will be cater by the hospital. lots of benefits by the hospital wil be availed from DOH, The MOOE will increase and refundable from philhealth will increase. Most likely the WDH will be the first secondary hospital in lanao del sur and will be the model of ARMM for health care services and personnel capability will be enhanced

Be apart of it... The Secretary will be here again to conduct eye cataract and other eyes sick consultation for pray........ Jesus were fun of Healing sa mga bulag...

Hello there again, Ida!

Thanks for visiting Bob's blog once more and keeping us updated with what's going on in your side of the world... I havent heard from Tagoy since he left Germany for Cagayan de Oro. He must be too busy now overseeing his farm-project in his new "ranch" in Malinao. Am sure he'll visit this blog again if he gets to the nearest Internet Cafe in Wao.

To "Itomon Tambok"-

Please refrain from using vulgar words and using this blog in inviting other Waonians to join you in a seeming "hate campaign" against this "Rachelle Balicao" . Bob's blog is for promoting harmony and friendship amongst all Waonians scattered all over the globe and not promote friction, divisiveness, enmity and hatred amongst us. Lets drop the "Alimango" mentality and please, let us NOT ATTACK , TEAR AND RIP EACH OTHER APART. This simply is not the right venue...

I dont know your history of ill-feeling with this "Rachelle" but as "Old Man" aptly advised in his May 6th 2009 contribution in this blog, he reminded everyone not to use Bob's blog as a medium for conflict resolution. Am not sure if you were the same person hiding under the user-ID of "Concerned Citizen" who wrote a similar acerbic attack on this "Rachelle Balicao" on May 5, 2009, but please refrain from lowering Bob's excellent website into a cheap tabloid or we will request him to filter and delete objectionable entry(ies).

As one of the elders from Wao ( I am now 58 years old), I would advise the younger generation to be more matured and responsible in what they write. lets encourage and promote friendship and harmony instead of ill-will and enmity. God bless you always.

Greetings to all Waonians,

First, belated b-day greetings to Bob... and thank you Bob as always for this wonderful site to let all waonians continue to interact with one another globally.

With all the news lately about the subzero weather and snow that the midwest and eastcoast are experiencing, one shouldn't forget that california has had its share of devastating weather also. All these unpredictable global changes causing mother nature to unleash its fury after earthquakes in Haiti, lately in Chile w/Tsunami warnings in the oastal areas incl. US, dry Spell or El Nino phenomenon in our country, floods in Western Europe, UAE, etc...storm/landslides in California, Guatemala and other parts of the globe, etc., etc., you never know what's next...

It really makes you cherish what you have, and reminds us not to take life for granted. Today, the afternoon here is bright with spring in the air and a mild March afternoon, with the breath of April stirring...

Finally I wish everyone good health and enjoy each day in comfort with family, friends and loved ones.

All the Best,
Ida

Belated Happy Birthday Bob.
Yes, you now "belong" to Wao and all Waonians who have seen this site will attest to that.
Hello to all Waonians - wherever you may be - in Wao, in Cagayan de Oro or in any other part of the Philippines - or anywhere in the world.

I am in England and we're in the middle of winter still. We had snow (again) yesterday and today, the weather was unsettled and sleet and snow poured in (still do). FREE air con outside the house - that's one consolation.... Anyway, enjoy life each and every single day. LIFE IS PRECIOUS!

hello guys... im very happy to read your comments even though you are leaving in other country but you can still remember our beautiful home town, thanks to bob.
Hehehehe im leaving only in cagayan de oro not unlike yours in the other country, pero na excite lang ako na e share sa inyo yong fiesta kahapon feb.22,2010 kasi umuwi kami ng wao to celebrate my birthday with my lola eta she's 90 years old already so we have thanks giving mass with father Banaynal sa bahay lang ginawa yong mass. I am my lola's juniora, permi man ako ga visit sa wao peru during my b-day mga 10 years na nga wala sa wao ang handa maski araw ng wao. After 10 years kahapon ko lang ulit nasaksihan ang fiesta..... Damo nagid nga mga changes, klase2 nga mga activities ang gina pagawas nila during fiesta my gina tawag cla nga KARYALA karon pagid ako naka tan-aw. But sad to say they have one small portion activities which is for me is not good example to the young people even though they hire actress and actor, except that area the rest is very good and the celebrating of fiesta is successful. Accidentally i open this site thanks sa inyo and GODBLESS...

Hello there Arden,

Welcome aboard! The Bermudo's are one of the oldest family names of pioneer settlers in Wao in 1950's. I remember Manong...... ( my apology for forgetting his name now) when I was still in the elementary grades from 1958-1964. He and his younger brother (and their very American-looking mother) were the only American-Filipino mestizos we saw in the public market in those days, after that of Fr. James Cawley, our Irish Jesuit missionary priest at the time. One of Bermudo's son (if I remember right) has joined the US Navy. Which generation you belonged? Are you related to the Bermudos in Pagalungan? Please tell us more about yourself and your relationship with the Bermudos in Wao/Pagalungan...
